The Paradoscars 2019

The Paradoscars have been a running for well over a decade now, so the process should be familiar to many. We pick the nominations and then you get the chance to vote for your favourites.

The winners have now been announced at a local Bournemouth restaurant with a tipsy PCG. Whilst all the nominees deserved the limelight, we feel the winners have come out on top because they deserved to be there – in other words, they are the best of the best.

Thanks to everyone all of you who voted, especially considering many of our nominees weren’t more mainstream, predictable choices, and we do hope you all come back for more passionate opinions on our beloved medium next year.

And so here they are, the winners of the Paradoscars 2019:

The Paradoscars 2019 - The Final Categories!

And now it's time to vote in the final five categories before winners of the Paradoscars 2019 are announced in late-December. (There is an additional category - The PCG's Honorary Award For Hero(ine) Of The Year - but that's one we decide internally and is not up for a public vote).

These categories focus on characters, adaptations, as well as looking forward into 2020. If you haven't voted in the initial eleven categories, you may do so here and here. And we really encourage you to do so - there's going to be some close races in some categories based on the tally of votes so far, while others see certain nominees charging ahead of the pack. But all of that can, of course, change, and that's where you come in.

Voting will run until early December but we encourage you to cast your votes as soon as you can!

The Paradoscars 2019 - Voting Continues!

Voting in our first wave of Paradoscars nominations has been under way for a few days now, and even though there's still some time to go, certain categories already appear to have clear winners already while in others it's simply too close to call at this stage. If you've not cast your votes already, you can still do so here.

And so we now move onto the second wave of categories. While the first focused on the titles we've been picking up since the beginning of January 2018, the categories below concentrate more on the talent involved in the creation of those titles. Without these guys and gals, we'd be looking for a new hobby!

The Paradoscars 2019 - Voting Begins!

You can tell Christmas is almost upon us when you witness the annual Paradoscar voting process beginning! Is it really nearly 12 months since we announced the 2018 winners?

This will be the thirteenth year we've put this out to the wider world and we'll be relying on a 'survey monkey' again to assist us in collecting the votes. As we've done previously, we're breaking down the nominations into three chunks, which will appear here over the next couple of weeks.

The nominations in each category have been chosen by the PCG, and obviously reflect our tastes, so while you may not see some more 'obvious' contenders present, there are still some fantastic comics, creators and more in our selections, so please cast your votes our initial five categories, listed below...

And now it's time to vote in the final six categories before winners of the Paradoscars 2018 are announced in mid-December. (There is an additional category - The PCG's Honorary Award For Hero(ine) Of The Year - but that's one we decide internally and is not up for a public vote).

These categories focus on characters, adaptations, disappointments, as well as looking forward into 2019. If you haven't voted in the initial twelve categories, you may do so here and here. And we really encourage you to do so - there's going to be some close races in some categories based on the tally of votes so far, while others see certain nominees charging ahead of the pack. The Paradoscars 2018 - Voting Begins!

A sure sign that there are a rapidly diminishing number of days until Christmas is the beginning of the annual Paradoscar voting process! Can it really be nearly a year since we announced the 2017 winners?

This will be the twelfth year we've put this out to the wider world and we'll be relying on a 'survey monkey' again to assist us in collecting the votes. As we've done previously, we're breaking down the nominations into three chunks, which will appear here over the next couple of weeks.

The Paradoscars 2017

The Paradoscars (the awards formally known as the Paradox 'Oscars') have been a thing for over a decade now, initially in an 'offline' guise before transferring to the world wide web. It's no secret now that we enjoy voting in a best 'things' of the year list, and we enjoy it even more since we invited our readership to join in! While the PCG may have come up with the nominations in each category, the winners were chosen by you. As usual it was a tight race in some categories, but in others (Best Publisher? Again?) the winner left their fellow nominees in the dust.

The winners have now been announced at a local Bournemouth restaurant with a tipsy PCG. While all the nominees deserved the limelight, we feel the winners have come out on top because they deserved to be there – in other words, they’re the best of the best.

Thanks to everyone all of you who voted, especially considering many of our nominees weren’t more mainstream, predictable choices, and we do hope you all come back for more passionate opinions on our beloved medium next year.

The Paradoscars 2017 - Final Week Of Voting!

It's the final week of voting for the Paradoscars 2017. There's been a lot of voting activity so far but we still want to make one more concerted effort to grab as many additional votes as we can before the time comes to tot them all up (voting will end on 30th November).

At the time of writing some of these categories are still up for grabs. Looking at the vote tally at the moment, while there are a few clear winners emerging, for the most part it remains a close race.

We anticipate the announcement of the winners to be at some point on the 16th December. As usual, a tipsy PCG will congregate in a local restaurant where everything will be revealed, and the results will appear here shortly afterwards.

In the mean time, if you haven't done so already, please take this opportunity to vote in the 18 categories linked below. It's a cliché to say this, but every vote really does count!

The Paradoscars 2017 - Voting Begins!

We must be fast approaching the festive season as yet again we've arrived at the beginning of our annual Paradoscar voting process! Can it really be nearly a year since we announced the 2016 winners?

This will be the eleventh year we've put this out to the wider world and we'll be relying on a 'survey monkey' again to collect the votes. As we've done previously, we're breaking down the nominations into three chunks, which will appear over the course of the next couple of weeks here.

The Paradoscars 2016

We've run the Paradoscars here (formally known as the Paradox 'Oscars') for a decade now (!) and it was in existence 'offline' for several years before that, so clearly we like voting in a best 'things' of the year list, and we like it even more ever since we invited our readership to join in! While the PCG may have come up with the nominations in each category, the winners were chosen by you. As usual it was a tight race in some categories, but in others (*cough*'Best Publisher'*cough*AGAIN!*cough*) the winner left their fellow nominees in the dust.

The Paradoscars 2016 - The Final Categories!

And now it's time to vote in the final seven categories before winners of the Paradoscars 2016 are announced in mid-December. (There is an additional category - The PCG's Hero Honorary Award For Hero(ine) Of The Year - but that's one we decide internally and is not up for a public vote).

These categories focus on characters, adaptations, websites, disappointments, along with looking forward into 2017. If you haven't voted in the initial fourteen categories, you may do so here and here. And we really encourage you to do so - there's going to be some close races in some categories based on the tally of votes so far, while others see certain nominees charging ahead of the pack. But all of that can, of course, change, and that's where you come in.

The Paradoscars 2016 - Voting Begins!

The years must be getting shorter because somehow we've arrived at the beginning of our annual Paradoscar voting process and it seems like it was the only the other day that we announced the 2015 winners!

So it's time that we asked for your assistance again.

Unbelievably it's the TENTH year we've put this out to the wider world and once again we're employing a 'survey monkey' to collate votes. As we've done previously, we're breaking down the nominations into three chunks, which will appear over the course of the next couple of weeks here.

The nominations in each category have been chosen by the PCG, and obviously reflect our tastes, so while you may not see some more 'obvious' contenders present, there are still some fantastic comics, creators and more in our selections, so please vote for our initial seven categories, as listed below...

The Paradoscars 2015

This is now the 9th year we've run the Paradoscars here (formally known as the Paradox "Oscars") and it was in existence 'offline' for several years before that. Yep, we like voting for a best 'things' of the year and we like it even more ever since we invited our readership to join in. So, while the PCG may have come up with the nominations in each category, the winners were chosen by you. As ever, in some categories the voting was very tight, in others (*cough*'Best Publisher'*cough*) the winner left their fellow nominees in the dust.

The winners have now been announced, once again at the local curry house with a tipsy PCG.
